Judy Ho, BHE, is the Fashion Arts Coordinator at VCC and has been the instructor responsible for the business courses for several years. She has also developed and taught courses for various post-secondary Fashion Design institutions in the Lower Mainland. Upon graduation from the University of British Columbia, she started on a career as a Production Manager for an apparel company with international distribution, and as a Merchandiser for the Polo Ralph Lauren clothing lines. Over the years, she has served as a product development and manufacturing consultant to Arson Snowboard Apparel, Three Stones Clothing Company, Wilson International and Elle Sportswear.
Petra Bergholz, Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology – Kwantlen University College, 1994, has won numerous awards for academic achievement and design. Current works include costuming in various positions for feature films. In addition, she has been involved in design, patternmaking and production in Vancouver’s fashion industry.
Dalyn Berryman, is an award winner from the Fashion Design Program at the Blanche Macdonald Centre. She has an exceptional knowledge base in garment construction, portfolio development and computer arts, and is currently a freelance illustrator and web designer.
Matthew Burditt, graduated with scholarships from The International Academy of Design and Merchandising and the Blanche Macdonald Centre. He has been involved in design, production, product development and retail in the fashion industry for several years in Vancouver and South western Ontario. Recent works include photography and fashion styling for several local and international bands and musicians, he has received much acclaim for his own label from the Canadian media.
Anne Fletcher, Honours Bachelor of Mathematics, has enjoyed a diverse fashion career as a CAD specialist in Pattern Making, Production and as a Design Assistant. She is a graduate of the Fashion Arts Programs of VCC, and currently designs under her own labels.
Lisa Gellert, AAS, is a freelance illustrator and textile designer. She has worked in the fashion industry and education in New York and Vancouver. She graduated as an Associate in Applied Science, majoring in Fashion, at the Parsons School of Design, New York, 1985
Blossom Jenab, has her diploma in Fashion Design from Hammersmith College of Arts – London, England, is a designer and couturier with extensive experience in teaching both dressmaking and design and works under her own label, producing original designs in her West Vancouver studio.
Jerry McBride, is a Double Honours graduate from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, 1978; and a scholarship recipient from the Helen Lefeaux School of Design, 1993. She is an exceptional artist in the area of painting, ceramics, fashion illustration and millinery. She currently works as a Costume Illustrator for the film and television industry.
Heather Martin received honours upon her graduation from the VCC Fashion Arts Advanced Program and is currently designing under her own label.
Marcia Mior graduated from the Helen Lefeaux School of Design, has designed under her own label and has worked with custom clientele. She works as a design consultant, and is an accomplished fashion show producer.
Concetta Sciarretta trained in fashion in Vancouver and has worked at various levels of design and production in the fashion industry in Hong Kong and Vancouver. She graduated in Fashion Design, 1984, Fashion Arts Certificates, VCC, 1989.
Wanda Sustersich, BApp. Sc, is a couturier and sewing instructor. Making a 1982 career change from civil engineer to custom designer and dressmaker for private clientele, she is also a salesperson and advisor for a local fabric company. She graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia, 1980. She is an award-winning graduate of the Fashion Arts Program, VCC, 1988; Provincial Instructors Diploma, VCC, 1991.
Toyo Tsuchiya, graduated with a scholarship from VCC Fashion Arts Programs. She has a diverse career as a Costumer for feature films, as a visual Display Merchandiser for an international retailer, as a Design Assistant for a notable clothing line and currently designs under her own label.
Tara Ziedler, Fashion Design and Technology Diploma, Kwantlen University College 1992: was the Senior Clothing Designer in charge of developing private label brands for a national clothing chain. She has enjoyed a long standing career in the fashion industry as a Pattern Drafter, Merchandiser and Technical Illustrator, and designed under her own label.
