The purpose of this contest is to provide those graduating from high school a chance to win an entrance award towards Vancouver Community College’s Fashion Arts Diploma Program.

Who is eligible?

Any high school student interested in pursuing further education in fashion design who will be graduating in June of this year.

How do I enter?

Fill out this entry form along with a garment that you have sewn in your Home Economics 12, Clothing and Textiles 12 class, or any Grade 12 course in which you study and sew garments. Submit these along with a minimum 300 word essay outlining “Why I am interested in pursuing a career in Fashion”.

How do I send in my garment, entry form and essay?

Please have your teacher collect all contest participants’ garments, applications and essays and collectively submit them to:

Fashion Arts Programs

Vancouver, BC  V6B 1S9

How will applications be evaluated?

The Fashion Arts Program will evaluate garments based on the sewing quality, difficulty of construction and appropriateness of fabric for the type of garment. Have your teacher sign this entry form verifying that you have sewn the garment being submitted.

What is the award?

VCC Fashion Arts Program will be granting three entrance awards to their Diploma Program.

1st        $1,000
2nd       $300
3rd        $200
