1) Fashion Arts Advanced Certificate Program - Full Time (1-year)
Now accepting applications for Spring and Fall entries.
This fast-track, one-year program is designed to provide intensely focused training on a full-time, daytime basis. Based on the highly reputable, part-time program, this full-time program incorporates courses in four fields of study: Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Garment Construction, and an additional Fashion Business and Technology component. In general, it is necessary for students to complete the entire program over a one-year period to maximize the scope and depth of study in this highly structured and comprehensive program. Classes are offered 4 days per week, 09:00-16:00. Students can also expect at least six hours of Directed Study per week. Students who successfully complete this program will receive the Fashion Arts Advanced Certificate
Entry Requirements:
1. Have Grade 12 or equivalent
(waived if mature student)
2. Have a working knowledge of the English language and the ability to speak,
read and write clearly and correctly.
3. Submit completed application form.
4. Successful portfolio assessment & interview
5. Application deadline: February 15th for Spring (April)
or
May 30th for Fall (September)

2) Fashion Arts Certificate Program – Part Time Evening (2-years)

Providing a comprehensive training, on a part-time evening basis, this flexible program allows students to maintain regular employment while completing training. Successful from the start in 1986, and taught by professions in each discipline, the program has a reputation for teaching excellent technical skills and for developing individual creativity. This success is reflected in employment, with companies seeking our graduates to work in design, pattern making and grading. Comprised of 4 separate Certificates in Pattern Making, Garment Construction, Fashion Design, and the Fashion Arts Certificate, students have the option of taking the full program or concentrate on an individual Certificate.

3) Diploma Program - Full Time (2-years)

VCC is excited to announce the September 2007 launch of our two-year full-time fashion design program. This program has been designed to produce graduates of the highly desirable combination of creative flair and technical competence. This is achieved throughout the program by developing both creative ability and an awareness of technological and business applications.
The Fashion Arts Diploma Program is a 2-year program. In both years (9 months each year) classes consist of 24 hours of class instruction and a minimum of 6 hours of Directed Study per week. In general, it is necessary for students to complete the entire program over a two-year period to maximize the scope and depth of study in this highly structured and comprehensive program. Classes are offered 3.5 - 4 days/week, 9am to 5 pm. A Fashion Arts Diploma is awareded to those who complete this program. Graduates can transfer credits to other design programs based on transcript/portfolio strengths
Entry Requirements:
1) Have Grade 12 or equivalent (waived if mature student)
2) Demonstrate English language ability (Academic English 12 with a “B” grade or higher OR 3 credits of First Year English Equivalent with a C+ grade or higher)

4) Two or more letters of reference

3) Fashion Merchandising Associate Certificate Program
When you select a career in fashion merchandising, you enter the dynamic
and fast-paced worlds of retail and wholesale marketing. Merchandisers are
“people-persons” who have an eye for colour, a flair for fashion,
and an aptitude for management. This comprehensive core program is offered
on a part-time evening basis. It takes a multi-dimensional approach in educating
students for careers in the fashion industry by combining studies in business
fundamentals with fashion theory. Curriculum is delivered from both a theoretical
and practical perspective, depending on subject content.
No application is required. This is a flexible program
allowing students to enroll in courses at their own pace. Upon successful
completion of the program courses, it is the responsibility of the student
to notify the program coordinator for certification.
